Industrial globe valves are used in all industries where throttling or regulating flow is required. These include oil and gas, petroleum, petrochemical, pulp and paper, marine, power generation, mechanical construction and industrial gases.
A faucet is the perfect example to show how a globe valve works. Opening the faucet means raising or lowering the valve stem, depending on the design. Water then flows out of the faucet. When turned the other way, e.g. closed, the raised stem is lowered or the lowered stem is raised.
The number of rotations affects the amount of water that flows from the faucet. Similarly, by controlling the wheel of a valve, a certain amount of gas or liquid will pass through the valve. A globe valve fully open means that the flow rate is maximized. On the other hand, a globe valve that is completely closed means that the valve is sealed.
Easy to maintain and repair
Good shutoff capability
Short stem travel
Multiple patterns available
Good throttling ability
Can be used as a shutoff check valve
Globe valves are suitable for a wide range of applications, depending on the purpose and the raw materials used. They are reliable in high-temperature and high-pressure service, regulating steam and condensate, and even in nuclear power plants.
They can also be applied in these other disciplines:
Cooling water systems
Fuel oil systems
Boiler vents and drains
Turbine seals and drains
We offer the following globe valve body types:
Angle Valves. Globe valves with angle bodies are easy to maintain and install in tight spaces. Angle globe valves are ideal for applications where piping needs to be redirected or where space is limited.
Straight-through (3-way) valves. Straight-through globe valves provide a straight-through flow path for fluids, thereby reducing pressure drop. This valve body type is ideal for applications that require minimal resistance.
Y-Body Valves: Y-body valves minimize pressure drop and are ideal for high-pressure requirements or applications where pressure loss must be kept to a minimum.
Supcon offers globe valves in a variety of materials, including:
Bronze. Bronze valves offer excellent corrosion resistance, making them ideal for seawater and marine systems, piping systems, and other applications exposed to water or corrosive elements.
Cast Iron. Cast iron globe valves are cost-effective and ideal for general purpose applications. They are especially suited for non-corrosive environments where cost is a major consideration.
Stainless Steel. Stainless steel globe valves offer excellent durability, good corrosion resistance, and can handle a wide range of fluids. They are commonly used in chemical and petrochemical applications exposed to corrosive fluids, extreme temperatures and other harsh conditions.
As a prominent producer of globe valves, Supcon is dedicated to manufacturing superior quality valves suitable for diverse industries. Our globe valves are mainly designed to control, initiate, and halt the flow of fluids within pipelines, effectively stopping the flow by positioning the valve against the fluid's direction. We provide globe valves crafted from various materials such as stainless steel, bronze, cast steel, and iron. Our range of valve styles encompasses corrosion-resistant, pressure-sealed, and cryogenic globe valves, guaranteeing the availability of the appropriate valve for any specific application.
